Dr. Slavko Solar is a Mineral Resource Geologist who has worked for 40 years as an exploration geologist, manager, consultant and policy advisor in resource management at various levels: from deposit exploration to regional, national and European policy making. He now works for the Geological Survey of Slovenia as Raw Materials Adviser after leaving his position at the UN Economic Commission for Europe, where he was involved in the implementation of the UN Framework Classification of Resources (UNFC) in Europe. Before joining the UN, he also worked for the European Commission and the Association of European Geological Surveys. He has an extensive list of publications in his field, which have appeared in scientific journals and conference proceedings.
