Steward Moonga is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer for Plant Health Agri Limited, a company established in 2018. As the CEO, he has grown and expanded the company into four streams;
(1) Outgrower scheme, where the company works with more than 3,000 small holder farmers in dry beans.
(2) Agriculture inputs distribution, the business has four deports around the country distributing high value bio-pesticides and bio-nutrition inputs from multinationals which includes; BASF, Rovensa Next, Sumitimo, Intermag and many more.
(3) Farming, where the company is breeding and multiplying legume seeds for the out-grower scheme.
(4) Dry beans marketing and sales, where the business is buying and marketing the commodity from the outgrower scheme to the region, exporting to South Africa, Botswana and DRC.
Steward has broad experience in agriculture, accounting,
marketing, Environmental management as well as product development.
Prior to his current position, he has held several senior positions in the agriculture industry where his experience stretches for over 15 years.
He was a manager at York farms Ltd, growing high value crops for export to the EU market.
He was a senior agronomist for ATS Agrochemicals.
He was the Marketing Manager for Mauritius Chemicals and Fertilisers Industries a Mauritian Company as well as Marketing Manager for Care Crop Solution, a Kenyan company.
Steward is passionate about the sustainable agriculture where he has invested his time and resources training small holder farmers in climate smart agriculture helping them to improve their yields considerably from 200kg/ha to 900kg/ha and also improving their quality marketable produce from US$.68/kg to US$1.16/kg within three seasons.
He is a qualified Agronomist, Accountant, and Environmentalist.
