Diederick Zambon is the Acting Director of EIB Global International Partners, the Department that handles the lending operations in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific, Asia and Latin America. He is also Head of Country Relations and Public Sector Sub-Saharan Africa of the European Investment Bank.
He joined the EIB in 1994 and fulfilled various responsibilities in the Bank’s Credit Risk Department and in its Mediterranean Department working on the Mashrek and the Magreb. In 2005, he set up the Bank’s External Office in Tunisia and on his return to EIB Headquarters in Luxembourg in 2009, he joined the ACP-IF Department as Head of the Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Division; he was appointed in his current function in the Global Partners Department since 2015.
Before entering the EIB, Diederick worked for a major European commercial bank and was based in Belgium, London and Milan (1987 – 1994).
Diederick is a law graduate of the University of Nijmegen (NL) and holds the Diploma of Advanced European Studies of the College of Europe in Bruges (B).
