Dr Sixtus C Mulenga is a Mining Geologist with over fourty five (45) years mining industry experience both in Zambia and global Mining industry and author of numerous papers on Mining Industry and Sustainability in the Extractive Industry. He is a Stalwart of Zambia's mining sector, renowned for his technical expertise, hands-on leadership and strong government and stakeholder relationships. He was honoured with the " Grand Commander of the Order of Distinguished Service 1st Division (G.C.D.S.) for contribution to the development of Zambia Mining Industry and beyond" by H E The President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Hakainde Hichilema on 24 October 2025 61st Independence day Celebration National Honours and Awards Investiture Ceremony.
He has been an advisor on Extractive Industry to the Zambian Government and World Bank.
He is an indigenous investor in the Zambian Mining Sector. Founder and Executive Chairman of Musamu Resources Ltd, an emerging wholly privately owned indigenous Zambian Large Scale Mining Company developing a Greenfield Large Scale Luongo Manganese Mine in Chipili District of Luapula Province, Zambia. The mine has a JORC2012 compliant inferred resource of about 40million tonnes and reserve of about 765,000 tonnes. The company has a 25 year large Scale Mining Licence renewable.
He holds a PhD Degree in Geology and DIC from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of University of London. He is a Chartered Engineer - UK Engineering Council, Registered Engineer and Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia and Fellow of the Geological Society of Zambia.
