Rachid Baho is the Managing Director of APM Terminals Liberia Ltd., the operator of the Freeport of Monrovia and one of Liberia’s most critical gateways for trade, investment, and economic growth. With more than two decades of international experience in container terminal management, port development, and executive leadership, Mr. Baho brings deep global expertise to one of West Africa’s most strategic logistics assets. His career spans senior positions across Europe, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa. He previously served as Project Director for Antwerp Gateway, the pioneering greenfield development and first semi-automated container terminal of DP World, where he led the full lifecycle from design to automation integration and terminal commissioning. This project remains a benchmark for innovation in European port infrastructure. Mr. Baho later became the Chief Executive Officer of Lomé Container Terminal (LCT) in Togo, one of the region’s most advanced and fastest-growing terminals. Under his leadership, the Port of Lomé entered the list of the world’s Top 100 ports, strengthening its position as a major transshipment hub for West and Central Africa. He also led a significant terminal expansion project, enhancing capacity, improving operational efficiency, and reinforcing Lomé’s competitiveness within global maritime networks. His previous roles includes COO DP World Belgium, CEO ICTSI Madagascar, Regional General Manager Yilport Iberia and Board Advisor Grupo ETE. Throughout his career, Mr. Baho has built a reputation for operational excellence, strategic direction, high-performance team development, and effective stakeholder engagement. His leadership style is characterized by collaboration, transparency, and a long-term commitment to value creation for customers, governments, and communities. Mr. Baho holds a solid academic foundation with academic education in maritime sciences and management, which has supported his ability to lead complex, high-impact logistics operations and infrastructure programs across multiple continents. As MD of APM Terminals Liberia, he is dedicated to modernizing the Freeport of Monrovia, strengthening relationships with government and institutional partners, and unlocking Liberia’s potential as a competitive, investment-ready trading nation. His participation in the EU–Liberia Business Forum in Brussels reflects his commitment to deepening international economic cooperation, attracting responsible investment, and supporting sustainable growth across the Liberian supply chain.
