Rowland is a Namibian economist with a focus on financial economics. Born and raised in Namibia, he studied in Scotland before returning to Namibia in 2010. He has worked in the Namibian government and central bank, as well as commercial banks and non-banking financial institutions. He spent a number of years consulting to the IMF on financial system stability, with a focus on East Africa. In 2017 he co-founded a diversified financial service company, Cirrus, with a focus on stockbroking, asset management, corporate finance and unlisted investments. The Cirrus team are market leaders in research, financial market development and channelling investment into innovative companies and products in Namibia and the region. Rowland serves on multiple boards across Namibia and South Africa.
