Thandi Hambira is currently employed as Manager: Rules of Origin at NamRA. Prior to that she held the position of Deputy Director, responsible for central operations within the Ministry of Finance, Directorate of Customs and Excise.
She served in various portfolios under the Directorate Customs and Excise over the past 28 years. Played a pivotal role in the restructuring of the Directorate Customs and Excise. She equally served as a Task Team Member responsible for the preparation and establishment of NamRA, similarly, she represents the Directorate Customs and Excise on various national committees. As Customs Scanner Project Manager she was instrumental in the installation, implementation and operation of the non-intrusive security scanners at all major Namibian harbors, airports and border posts.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa -RSA, a Master’s Degree in Customs Administration from Charles Sturt University in Australia and a National Diploma in Public Administration obtained from the then Polytechnic of Namibia.
