Mr. Aphary Muyongo is the Deputy Director and head of Economic Geology Division at the Geological Survey of Namibia within the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy. He is an Economic Geologist with an M.Sc. degree in Applied Geoscience from the University of Namibia, a B.Sc. Honours degree in Geology from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Republic of South Africa, and a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Geology from the University of Namibia. Mr. Muyongo holds an Executive Certificate in Leading Economic Growth from Harvard Kennedy School, USA.
Mr. Muyongo has over 22 years of experience spanning geological mapping, economic geology and mineral exploration in Namibia. As a graduate geologist, Mr Muyongo worked at the Geological Survey of Namibia as a field geologist before joining the uranium exploration industry as a project Geologist. He then returned to the Geological Survey as a Chief Geologist in the Economic Geology Division and became a Deputy Director and head of the Division in 2018 till now.
