I am a Director at the Geological Survey of Namibia and also the Chairperson for the Diamond Board of Namibia. President for the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral deposits responsible for Sub-Saharan region and a member of the geological society of Namibia. I serve on the Technical Committee for ensuring water security and supply for Namibia. Have a Geology (Honours) from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MSc from the University of Wales (Swansea). I have over twenty years experience in public service. My research interests are in delineating areas of mineral potential using an integrated approach consisting of all geoscience survey datasets etc GIS and Remote Sensing, geophysics, geochemistry and geological mapping. Additionally, I have vast experience in geochemistry mapping and geological laboratories upgrade and Management. I developed the best practice guide for remediating abandoned mine sites. Additionally, I assessed the primary and secondary uranium mineralization at Goankontes, Erongo region. My major career satisfaction is having advocated (the year 2022) through the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, and conversations with Bank of Namibia staff, for the National Reserve Bank to start stocking up on Gold Reserves and today the Bank has commenced with this exercise. My aspirations are for Namibia to accelerate the National Geological Mapping program, to delineate areas of Mineral Resources potential and then optimize the value chain for all critical raw materials, not only for exports to global communities but also for the development of Namibia.
