About me

I was born in Jangamo, Inhambane Province, in 1960. I am a married Mozambican academic, manager, and entrepreneur, with a professional career built over more than four decades dedicated to education, institutional management, public administration, corporate leadership, and entrepreneurship. Throughout my career, I have maintained a strong commitment to the development of Mozambique, particularly in the areas of education, institutional strengthening, economic development, and human capital formation. I grew up during a period of profound historical and social transformation in the country, an experience that strongly influenced my understanding of the importance of education, leadership, and strong institutions for national progress. From an early stage, I understood that sustainable development depends on the training of qualified people, the existence of strong organizations, and the promotion of economic initiatives capable of generating opportunities and improving the living conditions of communities. - Academic Career and Educational Development One of the main areas of my professional activity has been higher education. I built a solid career as a university lecturer, researcher, academic manager, and educational administrator, accumulating more than twenty-five years of experience in academia. I served as a lecturer at Universidade Pedagógica, where I actively contributed to the training of teachers, administrators, and professionals who later served in different sectors of Mozambican society. Throughout my teaching career, I always sought to uphold dedication, academic rigor, pedagogical innovation, and commitment to excellence. I hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences, specializing in Educational Informatics, a field that integrates education, information technology, and pedagogical innovation. This qualification enabled me to contribute to initiatives related to the modernization of educational systems and the integration of information and communication technologies into teaching and learning processes. Throughout my academic career, I participated in curriculum development, academic supervision, scientific research, institutional coordination, and the promotion of educational quality. I developed a strong interest in areas such as digital transformation in education, institutional management, quality assurance, curriculum development, and human capital development. I also served as Head of the Office for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at UnISCED, an institution associated with IAPED Holdings. In this role, I contributed to strengthening institutional quality systems, academic accreditation, university governance, and the continuous improvement of organizational processes. I strongly believe that education is an essential instrument for social transformation, poverty reduction, economic growth, and national modernization. Over the years, I dedicated myself not only to teaching but also to the formation of values, leadership, and professional competence among several generations of students and young professionals. Corporate Leadership and Industrial Management Alongside my academic career, I also developed solid experience in business management and corporate leadership. One of the most significant milestones of my professional journey was my connection with PROMAC, a company operating in the construction materials sector in the city of Beira. I assumed the position of Director-General of the company during a challenging economic period marked by structural transformation, industrial modernization demands, and increasing market competition. During this time, I was responsible for operational management, strategic planning, financial administration, institutional coordination, and production supervision. My experience at PROMAC enabled me to develop competencies in organizational leadership, industrial management, resource administration, operational planning, and corporate governance. I always sought to promote management practices based on discipline, responsibility, productivity, and institutional sustainability. Currently, I serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of PROMAC, contributing to the definition of the company’s strategies, institutional oversight, and sustainable growth orientation. I consider the construction materials sector to be highly important for Mozambique’s economic and infrastructural development, especially in a context of urban expansion and growing infrastructure needs. Public Administration Experience Another important component of my career has been the experience acquired in public administration, particularly through the functions I performed within institutions linked to APIE. During my time in the public sector, I participated in activities related to asset management, institutional coordination, administrative supervision, operational planning, and the administration of state property.
