About me

Alima Hussein Sauji is a Mozambican businesswoman and activist from Catandica (Manica), with over 20 years of experience in leadership, private sector development, and policy dialogue. She is currently Chair of the CTA’s Women, Young Entrepreneurs, SMEs, and Entrepreneurship Committee, Vice President of the Mozambique–Italy Chamber of Commerce, and founder and host of the Para Elas Podcast. Throughout her career, she has distinguished herself for her contributions to business environment reforms under USAID’s SPEED+ project, including the Commercial Code and the Labor Law, as well as for providing technical assistance to public institutions. She also has international experience in stakeholder management and local content programs with Rio Tinto, promoting the integration of Mozambican companies into value chains in Southern Africa, and served as Executive Director of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) after holding various internal positions. She played an active role in organizing major investment and business forums such as Global Gateway, the Annual Private Sector Conferences (CASP), and business missions, among others. Alima worked on coordination between the government and international cooperation partners as Head of the DCP Secretariat, contributing to strategic responses in areas such as development and crisis management.
