About me

My name is Alexis Bedoya. I am a multidisciplinary professional with experience in vocational education, renewable energy, international cooperation, technical analysis and private sector development in Mozambique. My professional background is strongly connected to Technical and Vocational Education and Training, especially through work linked to GIZ-supported programmes and initiatives focused on skills development, employability and labour market needs. Over the years, I have supported processes that connect training centres, young people, public institutions, development partners and the private sector, with the objective of making vocational education more practical, relevant and connected to real employment opportunities. I have also collaborated with MUVA-related initiatives focused on youth employment, women’s economic empowerment, field research, labour market analysis and inclusive access to economic opportunities. This experience has strengthened my understanding of the importance of designing training models that respond directly to the needs of companies, communities and emerging sectors of the economy. Renewable energy is one of my current priority areas. My experience in this field is mainly linked to renewable energy training processes supported by German cooperation, where I have analysed skills needs, practical training approaches and the connection between professional education and the energy sector. I believe that Mozambique’s renewable energy transition will require not only investment and technology, but also qualified people, local capacity and strong partnerships between companies, training institutions and public actors. I am currently supporting the entry of GoShop Energy into the Mozambican market. GoShop brings experience in solar energy and renewable energy solutions in Africa, and our objective in Mozambique is to identify practical opportunities adapted to local needs. We are interested in promoting reliable and sustainable solar solutions for households, small businesses, schools, health centres, agricultural producers, institutions and rural communities. Our vision is not limited to the sale of solar products or energy systems. We want to contribute to a model where renewable energy also creates skills, employment and business opportunities for young people. For this reason, part of the value generated through GoShop’s activities in Mozambique is expected to support training in renewable energy-related areas, including installation, maintenance, customer service, sales and productive-use energy. This vision is aligned with GoShop Academy, an existing training initiative within GoShop that focuses on strengthening technical capacity in renewable energy through practical learning. For Mozambique, this is especially relevant because the growth of solar energy will require trained technicians, local installers, maintenance teams, entrepreneurs and professionals capable of delivering quality services in different provinces. I am also the founder of HUDUMA Consulting, a consultancy initiative focused on technical analysis, project development, training, institutional support, renewable energy and digital tools. Through my work, I aim to contribute to practical, locally relevant and sustainable solutions. At RENMOZ 2026, my interest is to connect with companies, investors, public institutions, training providers and development partners who believe in renewable energy as a driver of investment, employment, skills development and inclusive growth in Mozambique. My professional mission is to help connect energy, education, business and opportunity in a way that supports a more skilled, sustainable and competitive Mozambique.
