Project Pitch
UPA SAMA – Unidade de Produção e Processamento Agropecuário Samatepo – is an Angolan agro-industrial start-up implementing a sustainable, solar-powered integrated production system. The initiative targets rural communities along strategic corridors, leveraging renewable energy infrastructure, precision agriculture, climate-smart livestock management, and value chain optimisation to maximise productivity, efficiency, and socio-economic impact. The business model is B2B and B2F oriented, combining direct revenue from agricultural and livestock product sales with strategic partnerships with development finance institutions, off-takers, and impact investors. Operations are structured in three phases: conceptualisation and technical feasibility (2025), detailed engineering and financial modelling with investor engagement (2026), and pilot deployment with phased operational scale-up and performance monitoring (2026–2027).
Key operational activities include solar-powered irrigation networks, feedlot systems, integrated crop-livestock rotations, and post-harvest value-addition processes. The model is designed to be scalable and replicable across the Lobito Corridor, enhancing food security, rural employment, and regional economic resilience.
UPA SAMA positions itself as a pipeline-ready agribusiness, combining technological innovation, operational excellence, and investment-readiness to contribute to sustainable development objectives and corridor-based economic growth.
