Project Pitch

Good Nature Agro (GNA) is a for-profit social enterprise founded in 2014 with a mission to move smallholder farmers from poverty into the middle class. We partner with over 23,000 farmers across Zambia, Malawi and South Africa to produce high-quality legume seeds and staple crops that strengthen food security and incomes. Business Model Our model integrates smallholder farmers into a reliable value chain. GNA provides farmers with quality inputs, training and agronomic support through a USSD platform and extension services. Farmers then supply seed and commodities back to GNA under guaranteed purchase agreements. We process and package these products, selling them to commercial buyers, governments, and NGOs. Revenue is generated through seed and commodity sales. Operations GNA operates through a network of hubs located close to farming communities, ensuring efficient aggregation, storage, and distribution. Our digital platform supports farmer engagement, traceability and market access. We are also investing in climate-smart agriculture, irrigation, and solar solutions to build resilience against droughts. This integrated system has increased farmer incomes from $113 to up to $777 while securing consistent supply for buyers.
