Project Pitch
Dominion Commodities Limited is advancing sustainable agriculture through its Animal Feed Pilot Project, designed to boost productivity and farmer income while reducing feed costs for poultry producers.
The project introduces a nutritionally balanced, cost-effective feed formulation using locally sourced cassava, sorghum, millet, and pigeon peas. By diversifying raw materials, DCL strengthens crop value chains, offering smallholder farmers reliable markets and fair prices beyond traditional maize production.
DCL’s fully owned facilities in Lusaka will process, package, and distribute the feed to poultry producers nationwide. The localized sourcing model minimizes import dependence, lowers operational costs, and builds resilience in Zambia’s K 1.5 billion animal-feed market.
Through this initiative, DCL aims to create 600 jobs for smallholder farmers, increase household incomes, and supply over 200,000 families with high-quality poultry feed. The project embodies DCL’s commitment to inclusive growth, sustainability, and agricultural transformation—empowering farmers and strengthening Zambia’s food security from the ground up.
