Project Pitch
Zamgoat is a Zambian impact-driven agribusiness transforming the small livestock sector into a modern, inclusive, and export-ready industry. The company integrates over 3,000 smallholder goat farmers into formal value chains through aggregation, value addition, and enhanced market access, unlocking sustainable income opportunities, raising incomes by 20–30%, and enhancing economic and climate resilience while promoting climate-smart livestock production.
Founded in 2012, Zamgoat employs 11 full-time staff and has processed and sold over 200 tons of goat meat products, generating more than USD 900,000 in cumulative revenues. Its product portfolio includes fresh and processed goat meat products such as sausages, smoked, and dried goat meat, with growing demand in Zambia and neighboring countries.
Through its diversification arm Afribeef, Zamgoat is expanding into sustainable beef processing to serve the DRC and Angola markets along the Lobito Corridor. The company is also developing a technology-driven spin-off, Livestock Datafarm, a digital platform providing farmers and other value chain actors with access to data, inputs, veterinary services, and digital markets.
Zamgoat’s business model combines livestock aggregation, processing, logistics, and digital services, generating revenue from product sales, commissions, and partnerships. The company seeks USD 450,000–1 million in investment to expand its processing capacity, logistics, and regional export readiness, driving inclusive growth and rural transformation.
