Tom is the co-founder and managing director of DOKING Africa, supplier of mining equipment, based in South Africa Tom is professional engineer who has over 39 years’ experience in design and project management related to mining and minerals processing projects. During his long carrier Tom was involved in design, execution and start up, amongst others, of Hillside Aluminium Smelter, Coega in South Africa, Zinc refinery, Skorpion Zinc in Namibia, Impala Platinum No 20 shaft in South Africa, Styldrift 1 shaft and Bakubung Platinum mine projects in South Africa. Tom also provided a consulting and strategic advisory service to many of south Africa’s blue chip mining houses. Together with its strategic partners Tom was pioneer in introduction of 1st Extra Low Profile Diesel Dozer to the South African mining industry in 2003. From 2008 to date Tom is actively involved in development and promotion of DOKING Narrow Reef Battery Powered Equipment including NRE Dozer, Drill Rig and Support, which is able to operate in mines with low seems (0.9 to 1.7 m wide) and slopes less than 30 deg.
