Ad is a senior energy consultant specialized in small- and medium scale renewable energy projects, both on and off-grid, with an engineering and economics focus. Ad has 30 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, of which 27 years were focussed on Sub-Saharan Africa. Ad was engaged by development finance institutions (e.g. NEFCO, WB), European utility companies (e.g. Vattenfall), dedicated energy programmes (e.g. GET.invest, Power Africa) and international institutions (e.g. World Bank, UNDP, UNEP). Ad has a wide experience in project preparation, capacity building, developing lending components of projects and leading due diligence activities for financial institutions, all to accelerate renewable energy investments. Ad is based 9 months in South Africa and 3 summer months in Europe.
