Lead Organisation: Africa-Eu Energy Partnership (AEEP)
Short Description: This session will introduce the Ten Year Infrastructure Investment Plan (TYIIP), a legacy from the G20 South African presidency, and the Global Gateway Investment Hub, launched on October 9th, under the Global Gateway Strategy, and explore how the Global Gateway Investment Hub can support channel private sector engagement in projects identified in the TYIIP.
Main objectives:
- Introduce the Ten-Year (Energy) Infrastructure Investment Plan (TYIIP) for Africa, highlighting its key components, strategic priorities, and alignment with continental initiatives such as the Continental Master Plan (CMP), the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM), and Mission 300, to drive the energy transformation on the continent
- Present the Global Gateway Investment Hub (GGIH) and explore its role in mobilising and facilitating private sector investment in Africa’s energy infrastructure, particularly in projects outlined in the TYIIP.
Deliverables from the Session:
- Socialization of the TYIIP and of the GGIH
- Identification of opportunities to channel private investment from the GGIH into the TYIIP projects
