The EU International Business Forum on Transport and Strategic Corridors, held in Abidjan from 30th of March to 1st of April 2026, aims to stimulate investment in the transport sector, in alignment with the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy and the priorities of the CALAO corridor countries.
Discussions will focus on strategic sub-sectors:
- Road transport (maintenance, greening)
- Rail transport (financing, performance)
- Ports and freight (modernisation, digitalisation)
- Digitalisation and smart mobility (new technologies, security)
- Corridors and regional integration (multimodal platforms, inclusivity for youth and women)
- Infrastructure financing (FDI, European and multilateral solutions)
The forum will gather 500–800 participants from public institutions, private companies, financial actors, and development partners.
Objectives include:
- Promote regional political and economic dialogue on transport and corridor management among the six countries along the Abidjan–Lagos and Abidjan–Ouagadougou corridors.
- Promote, for each of the six countries, a portfolio of priority investment projects (project pipeline) to the international private sector and financial institutions.
- Promote priority projects for each country—both at the national level and in a corridor-wide perspective covering at least two countries.
The event is aligned with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy and Team Europe initiatives, offering a platform for B2B, B2G, and G2G exchanges, project pitching, thematic panels, and investment clinics.
