Project Pitch

HAIKKAT Mobile is a urban mobility platform digitizing transportation sector in Abidjan. There's no way to see available public transportation options and cash payments create significant conflicts when giving change. HAIKKAT enables users to see available routes via formal & informal public transportation and pay for their e-ticket online. Our business model is based on a high-frequency, low-margin transaction fee. We charge approximately $0.01 per trip (~3%), leveraging the massive volume of daily transport usage (2–4 trips per user/day). At scale, this generates significant revenue while remaining affordable for users. Additional monetization layers (B2B services, data insights, and intercity ticketing) further increase long-term value. Operationally, we map formal & informal transport and we update information of price, time and routes each day. Then we propose to users to buy their ticket for public transport online. The model is asset-light, scalable, and designed to expand rapidly across African cities.

Team

The team consists of two people

• Emmanuel KILI, who holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Grande École program at emlyon business school (2022). He is responsible for strategy and business development
• Karim Badji, who holds a Master’s degree in Software Architecture, Application Development, and Information Technology from EPITECH (2022) He is responsible for software architecture development.

We have been working on this project for over two years, and our strong rapport and shared vision have enabled us to make steady progress on this project day by day up to the present
