Project Pitch

Municipal Solid Waste Source Separation and Composting Project in Accra

The project establishes a city-wide system for municipal waste source separation and composting. It introduces an adaptive three-stream waste collection system separating organic waste, recyclables, and residual waste. Implementation will be phased, starting with large organic waste generators and expanding to households across different income levels. The project includes waste collection infrastructure, a composting plant using Covered Aerated Static Pile technology, and a project management unit to oversee implementation and monitoring.
