Project Pitch

BioMassters has been working with MINEDUC for over 1 year now and an MoU in place to convert 250 schools in Rwanda, specifically in Kigali from firewood cooking to clean, smokeless pellet cooking. Current pilots at 7 schools have shown targets achieved to EU and WHO health regulations regarding cleanliness of the solution. Current running costs for schools are equal to or lower than current spend on firewood. Conversion costs are minimal at 3,000 Euros per pellet burner per retrofit as existing infrastructure and cookstoves can be used. BioMassters would be the implementing partner that installs, monitors and maintains the pellet burners and supplies pellets to the schools. The schools will continue to purchase cooking fuel (pellets) from their own budget.
