Project Pitch
Rwanda Green Fund’s Investment Arm is being established as a privately governed climate investment platform to crowd in private capital for climate-aligned opportunities in Rwanda and the broader East-African region. The platform will mobilize catalytic, concessional, mezzanine, and commercial capital across multiple investment vehicles, including climate venture/growth funds, infrastructure strategies, and other blended finance vehicles aligned with Rwanda’s climate and development priorities. The platform’s core business model is to use catalytic and first-loss capital to de-risk investments and attract commercial LPs, including institutional investors, DFIs, corporates, and domestic capital providers. The inaugural vehicle, Fund I, will target USD 20–50 million and invest equity and quasi-equity capital into early-growth and growth-stage climate businesses operating in Rwanda, regional companies expanding into Rwanda, and Rwandan companies scaling into regional markets.
Team
The Investment Arm is currently being advanced by a lean core team within Rwanda Green Fund, directly supporting its rollout, investor engagement, fundraising efforts, stakeholder alignment, and pipeline development. Rwanda Green Fund intends to appoint an experienced fund manager with strong regional expertise, investment track record, and African market knowledge to lead investment execution, portfolio management, governance, investor reporting, and exit planning.
