Short description: This side event showcases the Data Governance for Africa Initiative, highlighting policy harmonization, data innovation and digital infrastructure investment opportunities.
Main objectives: Strengthening AU-EU commitment to develop data capabilities in Africa based on lessons learned in developing data frameworks, responsible data practices and investment opportunities.
Deliverables from the Session:
- Increase awareness about the objectives and implementation plans of the AU Data Policy Framework and fostering its domestication by African countries.
- Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement: Create a platform for policymakers, private sector representatives, civil society, and academia both from Africa and Europe to collaborate and advance data -driven innovation.
